The Auto Feed Plus® reverse feature allows material to be backed up, preventing wood from rubbing against the disc or knives. The reverse feature, which is infinitely adjustable from milliseconds to seconds, eliminates the potential for bogging motor and dulling knives! the reverse feature operates smoothly and quickens engine recovery time.
Placed into production in 2001, machinery dealers worldwide who have tested Auto Feed Plus® have received it enthusiastically. The reversing system is original and more dependable, easier to adjust. Equipment operators also found the Super Bright RED LED display EASY to see and works in any Temperature Built tough Made in Michigan USA hand assembled and made from thick FR4 Epoxy 2oz.copper clad printed circuit boards, Kurt hand solders and inspects and tests each one made.
Chippers were controlled by various means since their inception. However the harsh application and environment caused an incredible lack of reliability and performance. In 1999, Kurt Snider developed a proportional start/stop auto feed control that was tested by and sold to Morbark. Although this was the first digital feed control for this type of machinery, the net result was sawdust because varying the speed varied the chip size, The following summer, Kurt produced the first digital, programmable, reversing control with a LED display, Auto-Feed Plus® published & proven, This control eliminated the self feeding of material (or an open Valve port condition) into the feed wheels when the engine bogged down. In addition, this technology, by enabling the machine to stop and reverse the feed wheels after the engine RPM's drop to a pre-determined set point, saves on knife wear, clutch wear, adds to the overall longevity of the machine. This technology has so revolutionized the industry, virtually every North American manufacturer of tree chippers and most worldwide have bought our invention Auto Feed Plus®.
