This is an authentic old German military bugle of a type that was commonly in use by soldiers of the Wehrmacht in World War II for communicating information to troops in the field as well as in military encampments and installations.  IT IS
NOT
A REPLICA OR A COPY OF AN OLD BUGLE MADE IN INDIA OR CHINA.  It is a genuine antique German brass and German silver WW2 era military bugle.  The chain and the rings for a leather shoulder strap are, like everything else, absolutely original to the bugle.  Pictures of this exact style of bugle in use by German military forces in WW2 are easily found and we show two of them.
We also show the bugle complete as it is with its 80+ year or so imperfections.  The bugle shows considerable service use and the patina on all parts of it is perfectly consistent with an instrument that spent the last 80 years in an attic somewhere.  On the other hand, for military equipment of its type, it is in good used condition with nothing broken and still makes the noise it was intended to make.
The bugle is 11 inches long, the flare is 4-⅝ inches in diameter, and the whole thing weighs 1 pound 2 ounces.  We purchased it in Europe some time ago.  We can find no manufacturers name or marking on the bugle and no one has ever attempted to solder an eagle and swastika on it as is common with many these days.
