Petzl Rescucenders are designed for use on larger diameter ropes 9-13mm making them perfect for rescue hauling systems. The Petzl Rescucender can be used as a back-up belay on fixed ropes or as a progress capture device in hauling pulley systems for heavier loads.
The Petzl Rescucender easily travels up and down the rope when the cam is prevented from engaging. If subjected to an overloaded or large impact force, the rope may slip through the device. Thanks to a two stage opening system the Petzl Rescucender is safer than most rope clamps as a locking pin must be removed before opening of the device possible.
